Welcome to Sri Lanka, a land like no other, where this 12 days tour of discovery will expose you to the country’s rich history and culture, as well as its wildlife, soft adventures, and secluded beaches with stunning golden sand.
You will be met by your tour guide when you arrive at Colombo CMB Airport, and you will then be taken to your accommodation. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will travel through the breathtaking Sri Lankan countryside towards Dambulla city, which serves as the central point of the Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. En route, you may stop by the Millennium Elephant Foundation, which was established in order to protect and look after for the wild elephants that were discovered ambling around Sri Lanka’s forested areas.

DAY 03 | POLONNARUWA ANCIANT CITY/ JEEP SAFARI
In the morning, you will visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE). In 1070 King Vijayabahu chose this place as his kingdom, one of the most ancient in the history of Sri Lanka. Cycling through Polonnaruwa ancient sites is a wonderful experience (INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE).
Afterwards, your tour leader will take you to Minneriya/Kaudulla National Park for an afternoon 4×4 jeep safari, since it is the best time to spot wild elephants on their natural habitat. If you’re up for a serious rumble in the jungle, then Minneriya/Kaudulla is your ideal destination! Spreading over 8800 hectares, this park is mainly a sanctuary for elephants, but it is also home to herds of deer, bulls, wild boars and colorful birdlife. It is always a pleasure to watch baby elephants playing with water by the main lake of the park. This place is well known as the largest elephant gathering place in the world.

DAY 04 | GOLDEN CAVE TEMPLE / HISTORIC KANDY / CULTURAL SHOW
After breakfast visit the Golden Buddha Statue and the Royal Cave Temple. The largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka is located in Dambulla. Beginning with the first century B.C., many kings have treasured it. Five cave temples on the rock, which climb 160 meters above the plains below, contain some of the most exceptional and important historical artwork. You will then head to the Matale Spice Garden. Afterward make your way to Kandy, the last kingdom of the Sinhalese. It is situated on a plateau surrounded by mountains that are home to bio diverse rainforests and tea plantations. Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

DAY 05 | KITULGALA FOREST ADVENTURE / ADAM’S PEAK TREKKING
In the morning, you will proceed to Kitulgala, which is a major ecotourism venue in Sri Lanka. It is a real paradise for those who love adventures. Upon arrival, experience white water rafting in the picturesque Kelani River. This activity is for anyone above the age of 10 years with safety gear, modern rafts, and a comprehensive safety briefing that will be given by our white water rafting instructors beforehand. The river and its surrounding will make you feel enchanted, with a memorable experience during your white water rafting tour in Kitulagala. Afterwards, trek to natural rock pool, which is extremely beautiful and a gift of nature, where you will be able to experience sliding down an inclined 05-meter waterfall with safety gear into the rock pool (ABOVE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE).
Late evening, you will be hiking Adam’s peak, one of most popular activities in Sri Lanka. In the morning, you will enjoy a spectacular train journey from Nanu-Oya station to Ella village. This journey is known as one of the most scenic hill country train journeys in the world. Your journey starts from Nanu Oya and would reach Ella passing lush greenish tea estates, many tunnels, farming fields, villages, various types of forests, etc.
Ella is in a fantastic, eco-friendly location and is hence everyone’s favourite hill country village. The Nine Arch Bridge, a popular tourist attraction in Ella, was constructed entirely out of solid rocks, bricks, and cement, without the use of any steel at all. Ella is a fantastic location for hiking and trekking, and its most well-known journey is up “Little Adam’s Peak.” You may chill in the village centre at night, where there are lots of restaurants, pubs, and entertainment.
